The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was held from October 15th to November 4th, 2026 at the China Import and Export Fair Exhibition Center in Panyu, Guangzhou. It coincided with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Canton Fair.
I. Basic Overview Organizer: Ministry of Commerce, Guangdong Provincial Government; Organizer: China Foreign Trade Center Area: Exhibition area approximately 1.55 million square meters, approximately 75,000 - 75,700 booths, 54 professional exhibition areas, 13 sections. Exhibitors: Approximately 32,000 enterprises, nearly 4.88 million items. Buyers: Approximately 340,000 overseas buyers (the pre-registration stage has exceeded 210,000, from nearly 200 countries and regions; the 139th session had 220 countries and regions and 314,000 buyers). Three-phase themes: 10.15–10.19 Advanced Manufacturing: Electronics and appliances, industrial automation, new energy vehicles, new energy, service robots 10.23–10.27 Quality Home Furnishings: Building materials, furniture, household items, gift decorations, fashion accessories 10.31–11.04 Beautiful Life: Toys, pregnant and infant products, health and leisure, medical devices, textile and clothing, food, etc.
II. Highlights of This Session: Going towards new, intelligent, and green: 64% of the exhibitors applied industrial internet/AI; new products accounted for 23.2%, green products accounted for 26%, both reaching new historical highs; high-quality enterprises (high-tech, specialized and innovative, single-champion) exceeded 11,000. Service robots/embodied intelligence: humanoid robots, dexterous hands, wheeled and footed robots, unmanned coffee stands, underwater/inspection robots were showcased. Digital exhibition: 22 smart application scenarios, 16 AI characteristic applications, 1-meter-level booth navigation + AR information display throughout the exhibition hall. Multiple "firsts": First full-year regular buyer pre-registration, buyer signature system, AI invitation push, establishment of buyer alliance, setting up "Chinese Special Zone"， coverage of 10 major production service industries.
III. Transaction Situation (as of October 19， 2026)： The first phase has not yet ended. The official usually releases complete data such as "cumulative transaction amount / attending buyers / order structure" after the entire session. Therefore， the final transaction total of the 140th session has not been disclosed yet. Disclosed transaction signals： Strong participation of overseas buyers： Approximately 340，000 overseas buyers attended， 266 leading buyer enterprises， and 141 global partners organized to participate. Structural changes： Active inquiries from new energy， intelligent appliances， industrial robots， smart healthcare， green building materials； Purchasers from "Belt and Road" countries accounted for over 60%， Middle East purchasers grew rapidly， and European and American purchasers recovered. Supporting the large-scale foreign trade： In the first three quarters of 2026， China's goods import and export reached 39.94 trillion yuan (year-on-year + 18.8%)， exports reached 23.2 trillion yuan (+ 16.4%)， and the order expectations of the Canton Fair were relatively warm.
